The Basic Idea
A standard 52-card deck is used. One player is dealt 13 cards and the other two receive 12 cards each. Players take turns drawing from the central pile or picking up a discard, then laying down sets or runs called melds before discarding a card from their hand. The aim is to empty your hand — a Tongits — or to hold the lowest total card value when the central pile is exhausted or a challenge is called.
The game has depth because the right move depends on what you hold, what you can see on the table and what you suspect your opponents are building. It rewards memory, patience and a calm approach under a little pressure.
